Trip Protection in Acapulco

Mexico's Acapulco is very distinguished among tourists and visitors, for it offers top beaches and stunning nightlife attractions. Despite the prestige of the place to foreign visitors, reports that involve drug violence in Acapulco are often noted within the city. One problem, for instance, talked about the drug cartels that fought over smuggling areas in the place that even led to deaths of civilian tourists. This problem has somehow made backpackers wonder if Mexico's Acapulco city is still safe for travelers.

If backpackers plan on traveling Acapulco, they should keep in mind that the city has a strong police and military presence as part of the country's federal government crackdown operations on drug crime and abuse. The place government also imposes check-point areas on Acapulco's main highways, requiring backpackers to show their passports and other valid identifications. It is advised to all backpackers that they always exercise safety precautions when traveling around the place. They should stay close to their travel buddies when traveling around Acapulco and should be cautious, especially when in bars. Hence, if fear of violence and drug problem will hinder backpackers from having a fun and relaxing trip in Acapulco, it is better for them to consider other top destinations in Mexico instead.
