Feel A Blast From The Past When You See Hacienda de los Morales

When I was yet a kid, my observation of Mexican food was limited to the regular tacos and burritos that I get from Taco-Bell. But that switched when I sighted Antonio Banderas doing his thing in bars and restaurants in Robert Rodriguez's El Mariachi film series. I began to query whether real Mexican cuisine is really good or that bland just like most American execution of foreign dishes.

My uncertainty was answered with an unexpected trip to Mexico city for a honeymoon after a quick wedding ceremony. Upon arriving there, I was surprised on how the old and the new could mingle so beautifully in the marvelous streets. Aside from that, I never considered that Mexico city could be as passionate as Paris or Venice in Europe.

I remember my husband taking me to Hacienda de los Morales -- a 400-year old hacienda converted into a secured and luxurious restaurant. The food there was great and they come with a wide selection of choices ranging from high-quality Mexican cuisine favorites to International delicacies, and while we were dining, a mariachi band was playing to fill in the relaxed impression of the place.

Unfortunately, we just stayed in Mexico City for a short three weeks, but if my husband intents for a second honeymoon, I'd urge him to take me back to that wonderful restaurant.
