Tortillas In Hot Soup as Mouthwatering Mexican Course

On ordinary days, my Mexican buddy and I would frequently enjoy tortillas as afternoon snacks with spicy salsa as a mouthwatering dip. But during a cold, stormy night, my buddy would decide to devour tortilla in a seemingly different way -- one that I couldn't even dare deem possible. I was sitting before the dining table, when she came up to me with a bowl of hot soup, saying that it was part of my mouthwatering dinner special. I am really not a fan of hot soups, but that chilling night proved to be an exception, when all I could ever crave for is a mouthwatering food to satisfy my appetite, and hopefully, give warmth to my freezing body from cold. With just one sip, I was taken by surprise and even had to leave my chair after I savored the spicy flavors of what my buddy called a hot tortilla soup. It was a different kind of sensation, one that you'll hate at first, but would eventually learn to love after a spoonful of the incredibly mouthwatering food.

I never thought that I'd have my much-loved tortilla in a soup, though it came out just fine with jalapenos and chillies lending spicy flavors to this good recipe. I also liked the tomato paste added with chicken and beef broths, while ground cumin, Worcestershire sauce, lemon-pepper flavors, and Tabasco seasonings only proved to be a fine mix for sauteed onion and garlic. Part of the extraordinary ingredient of the tortilla soup is the Tejano salsa, as my buddy later confessed. Although they were no longer crispy, the tortilla squares were amazingly incredible, even when they're floating in a soup sprinkled with grated cheese.

Three In Sorts of Mexican Blouses

When I was still in my college years, there was a look that leaned to using peasant blouses paired with a simple pair of jeans and sandals. Although I would not be caught dead in one, that sort of blouse is quite flattering to the upper body of a gal, especially her shoulders. Plus, a peasant blouse reminds me of those Mexican telenovelas and features, where the chick is all tanned and stunning in a white, often off-shouldered and short-sleeved top.

Apparently, peasant sorts are part of Mexican fashion, but that's not all there is to it. Actually, usual Mexican blouses all look like the so-called peasant blouses, only with slight differences and special names. Since there seems to be so many sorts, I would feature only three for now. There's the Ecuadorian blouse (aren't Ecuador and Mexico separate countries?), which comes mostly in white and long sleeves and reminds me of the type that boys wore in the 18th or 19th century. There's also the gypsy blouse, which is almost uniform to the peasant and is also short-sleeved with more embroidered marks on the neckline and sleeves. Finally, the chiapas blouse is more of an attention-grabber, with its specially wider and more colorfully made neckline, which for me, only lacks the sombrero and the wearer is ready to go partying.

A Sensational Mexican Hotel Nestled Near the Border

Calexico Guesthouse is simply the most cozy place to settle in when the plan is to visit Mexico with the end of California state as the starting point. This is primarily because Calexico Guesthouse has the enviable reputation of being found just a few walks away from the border of Mexico and California. Staying here after a tiring voyage from California should prove to be not only restful, but eventful as well, since there are several shops located nearby.

The hotel itself is a sublime display of modern life set against a plain and quaint environment. Its rooms boast of numerous sophisticated courtesy and amenities like cable TV, microwaves, modems, bathtubs, refrigerators, coffee makers. and alarm clocks that double as AM-FM radios.

Elsewhere, visitors can enjoy wonderful services in several points of the hotel such as those offered in its outdoor pool, coffee shop, restaurant, mini-bar, lounge area, and many others, all of which are designed to present maximum entertainment. For the health-conscious, however, a commendable way to shed off those unwanted fats is the fitness center established just one and a half mile away from the hotel. Either way, one can presume to have a sufficient stay at the Calexico Guesthouse whether one is going in or out of Mexico.
